Airport Transfer - 5th Arrondissement

Private Transfer to the Latin Quarter

The Latin Quarter is the intellectual heart of Paris - home to the Sorbonne, the Pantheon, and centuries of cafe culture and student life. Many of its boutique hotels sit on narrow medieval streets that larger taxis struggle with. Our drivers know the right approach for every 5th arrondissement address: Place de la Sorbonne, the Maubert area, the riverside quays, or the southern Mouffetard slopes.

The District

In the shadow of the Sorbonne

"The Latin Quarter has been a student district for 800 years. Some of its bistros and bookshops feel only slightly younger."— On the 5th arrondissement

Why the 5th has its own atmosphere

The 5th arrondissement was the heart of the University of Paris from the 12th century - students from across Europe came here to study in Latin, hence the name. That medieval geography still defines the district: a maze of small streets around the Sorbonne, dense with bookshops, late-night cafes, and the most affordable bistros in central Paris. The atmosphere is less polished than the 6th, more genuine, more lived-in.

Hotels in the 5th

From the river to the Pantheon, the 5th has dozens of well-kept three- and four-star hotels in 18th-century buildings - Hotel Monge, Hotel Saint-Jacques, Hotel des Grands Boulevards, Hotel Notre-Dame, Hotel des Marronniers. They tend to be excellent value compared to the 6th and 7th, with rooms often facing the Seine, Notre-Dame, or the Jardin du Luxembourg.

Navigating the medieval streets

Some 5th-arrondissement streets - Rue de la Huchette, Rue Saint-Severin, Rue Galande - are pedestrianised or nearly so. Others, like Rue Mouffetard, become market streets on weekend mornings with vehicle access restricted. We know which approach actually delivers you to your hotel, not three streets away.

Walking access to the islands and the 6th

From the 5th you can walk to Notre-Dame (5-10 minutes via the Pont au Double), to Saint-Germain (10-15 minutes via Boulevard Saint-Michel), or to Le Marais (15-20 minutes via the Pont de Sully). The Jardin du Luxembourg is on the western edge of the district, the Jardin des Plantes on the eastern.

FAQ

Common questions

Normally 35 to 55 minutes. The 5th sits in central Paris on the Left Bank; CDG access is via the peripherique and one of the central Seine bridges.
Yes. Our drivers know the small streets around the Maubert market, Saint-Severin, and the Sorbonne. Some addresses are on pedestrian streets - we drop at the closest legal stop, typically within 20-40 metres, and assist with luggage.
Generally yes - both for hotels and dining. The 5th is a popular choice for travellers wanting central location at moderate cost. Our transfer rate is the same as for any central district.
Some streets - Rue de la Huchette and Rue Saint-Severin in particular - are bar-and-restaurant zones until late. Choose a hotel away from these (around the Pantheon, Mouffetard, or the riverside) for quieter sleep. Our drivers can suggest hotel areas suited to different priorities.
Very suitable - the Jardin du Luxembourg and Jardin des Plantes are family magnets, and the streets are generally calmer than the 1st or 8th. Stroller access is good throughout the modern parts of the district.
You will not need to walk from drop-off - we deliver to your hotel door. After check-in, the 5th is one of the most walkable districts in Paris. Most major sites are within 15 minutes on foot.
